Evaluation questions (audience & technology)


EVALUATION START
You need to start planning AND filming editing your evaluations.  We are going to start with 2 of the questions.

You need to complete planning for this which I would like to see next week.

QUESTION 3

What have you learned from your audience feedback?  (first complete your documentary and then your ancillary)
1.       List your audience feedback comments:  Organise them into categories and make bullet point lists.  (examples: conventions, music, interview styling, sounds, shots, mise-en-scene etc.)
2.       Who is your target audience?
a.        What did you do to attract your target audience? (forms AND conventions)
3.       What did you learn from your audience feedback?  What did their comments show/teach you?
4.       What changes need to be made to improve?  Set this targets by organise this in similar way to #1.

Who would be your audience for your media product? (who is your target audience for your documentary) ?  (first complete your documentary and then your ancillary)
a)       Introduce your topic and who your target audience is.  You could have a sample of a small group of people to describe who they are
b)       Optional: How do you know they are your target audience? (can show research into how you formed your target audience ex focus groups?)
a.        What is film ‘rated’/guidance/warnings etc, into relation with OFCOM?  relate to target audience
c)       What channel is it shown on and why? relate to target audience
d)       What time is it shown at and why? relate to target audience

How did you attract/address your audience?  (first complete your documentary and then your ancillary)
a)       Briefly prove how your target audience will be attracted to your documentary
b)       Watching the documentary (brief shots and should have voiceover explaining what you’re doing and who is watching (specify how they are your target audience)
c)       Interviews with individuals from the audience (asking them questions) Remember to ask them specific and detailed questions
d)       Show and film a section on a list of things you did to attract/address your audience (forms and conventions)

DRAFT 1 or 2
a)       List your audience feedback comments (good and bad):  Organise them into categories and make bullet point lists.  (examples: conventions, music, interview styling, sounds, shots, mise-en-scene etc.)  Show a full list first and then have a voiceover reading them and concentrating on a few comments with co-ordinating footage playing over the voiceover.
b)       Group member 1 – what did you learn from the audience feedback?
Group member 2 – what did you learn from the audience feedback?
Group member 3 – what did you learn from the audience feedback?
Group member 4 – what did you learn from the audience feedback?
c)       What changes need to be made to improve?  Set clear targets of what you need to do to improve and what changes will be made for draft 2.

DRAFT 2 or 3
a)       List your audience feedback comments (good and bad):  Organise them into categories and make bullet point lists.  (examples: conventions, music, interview styling, sounds, shots, mise-en-scene etc.)  Show a full list first and then have a voiceover reading them and concentrating on a few comments with co-ordinating footage playing over the voiceover.
b)       Group member 1 – what did you learn from the audience feedback?
Group member 2 – what did you learn from the audience feedback?
Group member 3 – what did you learn from the audience feedback?
Group member 4 – what did you learn from the audience feedback?
c)       What changes need to be made to improve?  Set clear targets of what you need to do to improve and what changes will be made for final draft.

DRAFT 4 (final draft)
Same thing as 1 & 2 except it is your final one and you can reflect on the WHOLE learning journey.
For c) you can state what you would have done to further improve.

How did you use media technologies in the construction and research, planning and evaluation stages?  (This must be done for DOCUMENTARY AND ANCILLARIES)

PART 1:  DOCUMENTARY
1.       List all the technologies you used in research and planning.  Add brief explanation to explain the technologies and what you did.
2.       You can only film/explain a few of these on your evaluation – choose 3.
3.       Brainstorm how you are going to film and edit this.  It is like a tutorial – you must film yourself working with these technologies and then film yourself (or voiceover) explaining how you used the technologies and what you learned about them.
4.       What technologies have you used so far for the construction – hardware and software!  Make a list of them (like #1)
5.       You can only film/explain a few of these on your evaluation – choose 3 right now.
6.       Brainstorm how you are going to film and edit this.  It is like a tutorial – you must film yourself working with these technologies and then film yourself (or voiceover) explaining how you used the technologies and what you learned about them. REMEMBER THIS NEEDS TO BE A STEP UP FROM AS!
PART 2:  ANCILLARIES
